Build Process
![]()
STEP 1: virtual modelling
This consists of using imaging processing tools to create a virtual 3D model from DICOM or MRI files.

STEP 2: physical modelling
The virtual prototype created previously is built by rapid prototyping. The 3D printer first spreads a thin layer of powder. Then a print-head deposits a liquid binder to solidify the layers of powder. The process is repeated from the bottom up until the part is fully finished. When created, the prototype is infiltrated with a polymer resin to cure it.

STEP 3: post-treatment
Models can be sawed apart, drilled and threaded. Osteosynthesis plates can be shaped on the bone surface and fixed to the prototypes by screws for surgery rehearsal.

STEP 4: autoclave
Models can be sterilized by your teams for use in the operating theatre.
